Ainsdale Vets
Meet Our Team
Veterinary Care with heart, experience and a personal touch
We’re David Eccles and Ann-Marie Finch-Spencer, co-founders of Ainsdale Vets. Between us, we bring over 40 years of experience in animal care, leadership, and veterinary medicine.
Our aim is simple: to offer exceptional clinical care in a warm, welcoming environment where pets are treated like family, and clients feel heard, supported and confident in every decision they make.
This new independent practice is the culmination of years of learning, leading and listening – and we’re proud to now be creating something of our own, right in the heart of the Ainsdale community.

David is an experienced small animal vet with a special interest in soft tissue and minimally invasive surgery. Over 20 years, he’s built a reputation for clinical excellence, leadership and compassionate care. His advanced surgical qualification reflects his commitment to the highest standards of treatment.
He’s held senior roles across the North West, including Clinic Director at White Cross Vets, where he led the Sale branch to become Practice of the Year, and introduced advanced surgical techniques at Rutland House in Merseyside.
Approachable and thorough, David ensures every client feels informed and confident. At home, he shares life with his three dogs: Margot, Wilfred and Doris. He enjoys cani-cross, coastal runs and Padel tennis.

Ann-Marie is a qualified Veterinary Nurse with over 18 years’ experience in surgical nursing, clinical coaching and practice management. She’s led teams of all sizes, worked in referral hospitals, and supported multiple sites as an Operations Support Manager.
With qualifications in Leadership & Management (CMI Level 3 and 5) and as a Mental Health First Aider, Ann-Marie brings empathy, structure and warmth to both client care and team wellbeing. She’s passionate about building positive, inclusive teams that deliver gold-standard care.
Outside of work, Ann-Marie spends time with her dogs Effy and Spudge, and her cats Chairman Meow, Izzy and Dizzy. She loves golf, good coffee and quiet moments with her four-legged family.

Grace is the friendly face on reception, always happy to help and support clients. She’s worked as both a veterinary assistant and in customer-facing roles, giving her a great mix of practical experience and warm, approachable service.
Animals are a huge part of her life. She spent four months in America teaching children to ride, and at home she cares for her two showjumping horses, Teddy and Ciara, along with her energetic Labradors, Callie and Skye.
Outside work, Grace loves being outdoors, seeing friends and family, and making the most of any chance to travel.
